Guard Franklyn, killed on duty, WWII

Post by Nimbus »

I am trying to find out more details about an accident which took place between Kennett and Kentford stations, on the Cambs / Suffolk border, at some point during WWII. One train ran into the back of another on the same section of line, killing guard Franklyn of March depot. Has anyone further details about this accident? Many thanks.

Just read this post and know the area. Ive checked the Railway Archive site but the accident is not listed. Beware when searching for a Board of Trade (BoT) report for this accident as it was in the war period and any report would be made out by The Ministry of War Transport (MoWT).
Please keep us informed of any developments.
Hi interested in the area served by 52D. also researching colliery wagonways from same area.
