RIP Paddy Dunlop former LNER driver

Post by 52D »

Just been informed that one of the last few steam Drivers from Tweedmouth shed has passed on at the age of 90 following a stroke, Patrick "Paddy" Dunlop. Ironically the only Railway pic I have of him is with the enemy but City of Truro was in fine hands. The loco had stabled over night at Tweedmouth and Paddy was taking it North for a trade fair. This was in the 1950s Paddy is on the right hand side. This picture appeared in National newspapers and other publications.
City of Truro must be somewhat narrower than later GWR designs which seemed to have a habit of modifying platforms if they came North of their home turf.
