LNER Passenger Trains and Formations, Banks and Carter 2013

Post by Quicksilver95 »

I would really like to get hold of a copy of this book - but currently it's only retailing at silly prices on Amazon and AbeBooks. I can only assume their algorithms are set such that when a book has fairly few copies on sale they can put the price up and up. Long shot I know, but does anyone on here have a spare/surplus copy I could purchase for a sensible price?

Thanks in advance

If you are willing to pay around £50 then one copy is available on the Amazon Germany site, marginally more expensive copies on the Spanish and French sites:

1. Amazon.de
Germany Hardcover, ISBN 9780860936497
Publisher: Crecy Publishing, 2013
256 pages. International shipping, Der Artikel ist bald verfügbar. Sichern Sie sich jetzt Ihr Exemplar!. Shipped from Amazon.
£49.94

2. Amazon.es
Spain Hardcover, ISBN 9780860936497
Publisher: Oxford Publishing Co, 2013
256 pages. International shipping, Normalmente se envía en el plazo de 1 y 3 meses. Shipped from Amazon.
£51.35

3. Amazon.fr
France Hardcover, ISBN 9780860936497
Publisher: Oxford Publishing Co, 2013
256 pages. International shipping, Habituellement expédié sous 1 à 3 mois. Shipped from Amazon.
£52.60

Alternatively try ringing around some of the less well known booksellers who may have a copy still in stock.

Bill Hudson Transport Books has one listed at £60 probably + postage - NO LONGER AVAILABLE

I also found a copy on an Italian website apparently at €43,99 again it would be + postage - https://www.ibs.it/lner-passenger-train ... 0860936497 - though I'm doubtful that they have any stock.

Thanks for the replies folks, I'll take a look into a few of the above options. Still perhaps a little more than I'd like to have paid but certainly more realistic!

Given that the list price was £45 I'd not hesitate to buy before someone else reading this forum snaffles the deal  You snooze you lose...

Bookfinder brought up 3 for under £55 from different European sellers.
