I presume some people on here are already aware that the Ian Allan book shop at Waterloo is apparently closing in December this year.

It's a shame as it is or was a good place to buy railway books and railway dvds.

You will be missed...

I am not sure when the Ian Allan shop originally opened in the Lower Marsh market near to Waterloo station but the shop front appears to look like it dates from either the late 1960s or early 1970s in design anyway I first visited the shop back in 1993 and then occasionally ever since then. A small number of railway staff appear to frequent the shop that I have noticed over the years me included.

Oh well that's another place lost to 'on line' shopping and the Covid virus probably finished it off which is a pity as some people still like to go in the shop and have a look around and browse at books and dvds before buying them. Anyway I shall have one last visit to the shop before it closes in December for the last time.

due to covid many shops are closed, this was a really difficult time for everyone but many of them shifted their shops to online shops. I guess this is really an achievement for them. online shopping is more popular for a year.
