Mis(Guided) Busways

Post by 52D »

Can any one tell me how many of these schemes are proposed and underway in the UK.
I know of the Cambridge - St Ives route and the proposed Luton Dunstable route. How many more are planned and is the semi guided busway still in use in Leeds.
Hi interested in the area served by 52D. also researching colliery wagonways from same area.

As far as I know it is still in use in Leeds, at least at the top end of the A64 it is, and according to the Fleetlist some have guide wheels!

There has been talk of one in Hull for years, possibly, in part, using old trackbeds.

Since I have left the area, I am not up to date with the current situation.

Also in use on the A61 Harrogate rd in Leeds at least 2 separate sections, as is the A64 route.

I only seem to do that top bit as far as the Asda, so don't know about the rest of it really.

From another site;

The latest on the misguided cussway is that Cambs County Council have given Nuttalls an extra £16.7M to complete the outstanding works. A Cambs CC spokes person is quoted as saying that the County will recover this sum at a later date.....
