Creepy pictures

Post by meldrum »

Merry Christmas everyone.
I assume most people find certain images creepy. be it one of say a well known public figure (though perhaps we best not persue that one!) or a building or place but what about a railway picture?
As a young lad I had numerous railway books. of all the pictures in them only one really did give me the creeps.
It is of a replica early American DeWitt Clinton locomotive and train built in the early 1890's. The picture in question can be seen here on Wikipedia

Forty years later it still gives me the creeps and I find it hard to look at even now. Not sure if anyone on here can offer a rational explanation for my intense dislike of it. Also does any one have similar thoughts about this image or any other apparently innocent view?

Sorry about that Richard but it does not seem to work properly for me either!
Tried a few times to correct it without success. Not quite sure why but you can follow the link at the top of the Wikipedia page it takes you to.
