During a visit to Hawick, I was invited into the offices of a local firm. Ticking away was a Ritchie clock. I was told that it had been bought the day after Hawick station closed for £5.
The number inside is 15078. I've emailed Ritchie but they have no record and Ian Lyman's book doesn't really help.
Can anyone point me towards getting some more information to hand over to the proprietor of the firm?
Thank you,
Bruce

Hi Bruce,
welcome to the forum. Your question gave me an interesting 1/2 hour combing the web. Maybe you have seen all these, but:

welcome to the forum. Your question gave me an interesting 1/2 hour combing the web. Maybe you have seen all these, but:
- [1] http://www.edinphoto.org.uk/0_my_p_edwk ... s_hm34.htm has a 19th century advert where railway clocks are mentioned
- [2] http://www.daleandtamra.com/Collectible ... /i-x3rFKHd has a picture (about the tenth) of a railway clock sold to America and
- [3] https://books.google.de/books?isbn=0804738742, p77 gives an idea of how the Ritchie clocks might have worked.
