Quote steam rail then giggle at stupidity

In the latests issue of steam rail it says that the S+D gala at the WSR will be hard to beet on sheer volume and no other railways can hold that compacity.
I beg to differ. The May 19th/20th/21st gala at the NYMR is looking better oready. There are a number of reasons.
1, the return of 60007
2, Eddystone heads north
3, A possible 14 loco line up (only 11 at the WSR)
4, Truro and the Super D together in the north agian
5, Another reason to say Gresley Was Right (3440+7 coaches+Grosmont bank=No chance) we all remeber the KWVR right hehe
6, 3 diffent types of standard (75029, 76079, 80135)
7, 2 Black 5s
8, 2 pacifics
9, A proper hard slog of a bank
10, Whitby Cod :P

The numbers may not be as high but nither will be the hire bill. The S+D event proved expencive.

Freight trains have been talked about and with 49365 and a GWR heavy tank that could be interesting

Place your bets how far will 3440 get out of Grosmont before slipping. I recon it will spend the Weekend sharing local duties at the Pickering with the tanks

The trouble with that is:
60007, no chance.
45212, no chance.
Repton, hopeful.
825, hopeful.
76079, in Cornwall week after, unsure of it's attendance.

Still
75029, Eddystone, Super D, 3440 and watermans tank can all be considered as good. Then theres the fact that Grosmont bank won't disappear from the line up. Whats going on with 45212, I thought 45407 might be difficult because of its railtour sheduale

Shame about 60007 being to the wire but there is still 2 weeks and they are close. If there isn't 60007 that will meen no LNER engines  .

The world of preservation is a bit upside down. 2 of the 3 black 5s on the mainline arn't coming north of Crewe on the WCML.
SR and GWR loco dominace at Grosmont.

Its the way things are now. Kingfisher are working railtours from the south to the Settle Carlisle why carn't us northerners have the chance to see locos like 34067 and 6024 on the mainline they were both pencilled in for shap but one failed and one was cancelled theres some unfinished buisness that someone needs to attend to
