Christmas Layout

Post by richard »

As mentioned over on the Christmas thread in the General Chat, here's a photo of the Christmas layout.

The plan is that it will grow with each year - hence the board is large enough to accommodate two loops. Lionel 3-rail O with modern "fastrak" plastic-base track. Based on a "Polar Express" set but with additional "post-war" items including the signal (activated by a modern IR controller) and an Automatic Gateman (restored by myself and operated with a simple doorbell button).

Samuel likes it. At 2 1/2 yrs, simple things like operating the Gateman or watching the light change keep him entertained.
