Janet was indeed a signalwoman on the North London Line. I took her on when I set up a Freight Control and Driver Booking-on point at Acton in 1992/3. She went back to signalling a few years later and has recently retired from Wembley yard Box.
I totally agree with you on Tinsley being distracted by chatter in the box and getting the TRB up to date.
