In my line of work in always digging up stuff!
Job in Saffron Walden this week. Got quite a haul of bits. Mostly scrap (copper wire bits of plumbing and old nails etc)
Found a really rusty keying hammer head. And also a 12" length of fb rail with 3 fish plate holes. Think the rail weight is 30-40lb so of past narrow gauge use.
I'm in LNER territory so the keying hammer may have come from the Aldley End - Saffron Walden Bartlow branch.
I will clean it up and let your know of any markings.
