Running the unrealistic

Post by Tom Quayle »

As Iam building a 00 model of Annersley there a few locos that you would not expect but I will still run them. Going with the 'Its my railway' approch.
These will be
Southern Region 1F tendered standard 5 73110
A Duchess
A1, 2, 3 and 4s
Rebuilt Southern Pacifics
Spams
and even Camdon based Prototypes (10201/2/3, 10000/1)
Does anyone think this is pushing the boat out to far from store or have I gone inter-regional railtour Mad. Well I mad when it refers to anything else so why not this lol.
The weather here is Baltic but so were the tank engines
Furness Railway and GCR fan.
125mph tilt vs 126.5mph duck

Hey i run streamlined Stanier Coronations, Spamcans, GWR 1366 panniers, long scrapped GC 4-6-0's. AC electrics with no catenary, blue grey and sectorisation era diesels, on my late fifties GC main line layout. And thats before I get to all the ex LNER pacifics etc.

I even thought about painting a P2 in Brunswick green and a large atlantic lined BR black to see what it looked liked.

I do occasionally run prototypical trains. But its my layout and I have to share running rights.

When did you last see a 1/4 of a mile long freight on a preserved line or a preserved railway that does exactly as you want lol.

i've never seen it, but it doen't mean that it couldn't happen lol. The only reason that preserved lines perhaps don't run 1/4 mile long freight trains is because they don't bring the railway money, as where you don't have that problem.
