SuitabIe Motive Power For Durham Branch

Post by MartinWales »

Am into a medium term project to modeI a freight onIy terminus based upon Coxhoe Goods in County Durham and have amassed a sizeabIe amount of motive power to appear at this proposed Iocation, incIuding J71/J72/Q6/K1/J25/J39/WD.

Any further ideas? AIso any IocaIIy based engines wouId be advantageous

Talk to Mr. Wurzell - he's done something similar already and has no doubt looked into it.

Arthur Kimber does a nice J24, there are a few choices for J26/27 and if you're able to justify a WD, why not a Q5 (also Arthur)?

J77 (both types) also make for a bit of variety.

That's just off the top of my head - no doubt those more familiar with the area might be able to comment more authoritatively. G5?

What shed(s) served the network of lines passing Coxhoe Goods? The allocation(s) will indicate the most likely candidates, both the class mix and numbers.

Hopefully you have seen this web page http://www.disused-stations.org.uk/c/coxhoe/ which reveals that Q6 63397 and a good number of Covhops were present one winter's day

After a couple of false starts and being made redundant, I reluctantly abandoned the project

Never mind, another ex GC (WMCQ) project is in an embryonic state of research and preperation.
