Shildon LNER Event 23-31 July 2016
Advertised almost incidentally in one of this month's otherwise largely uninteresting model railway glossy mags. I cannot find any reference to this on the NRM Shildon website at present. Does anybody have any information please?

Much obliged.
They obviously appreciate the value of a publicity picture of 4472 in almost LNER condition and wearing the correct colours. I believe anybody attracted to the event by that picture has every right to complain if they are disappointed by the current double chimney, elephant's ears, grim dark green and "definitely not famous" number. Misleading advertising one might say.

Bernard Ingram's version of Hanlon's Razor is probably relevant. Paraphrasing for the general case (he was talking about government):
"never attribute to conspiracy that which is adequately explained by cock-up"
"never attribute to conspiracy that which is adequately explained by cock-up"

No mention of any LNER rolling stock like some nice teak carriages to display with the locos? It seems the LNER was just about locomotives right?

But only those discerning connoisseurs of the LNER know better. Unless it's a Thompson that is.
