Some gems are worth sharing, this one has just popped up on my fb site Belford 15 miles South of Berwick on the ECML. Description from Neil Mackay.
Said to be taken about 1950. Absolute block along the main lines, permissive instruments on the left to Crag Mill on the independents. Nice oil lamp above the signalman's head, "just in case". Not many spare levers, either. No.17 pattern frame, 51 levers + gate wheel, 1943. Closed 25 Feb 1962

That was the overline cabin before the modern monstrosity.

The 1950s box was actually a very nice example of its type. I visited it in 1978 and the bobby there let me open and close the gates.
