Shock Open Wagons

Information required . Did LNER ever build /construct or own any open shock wagons.Any help/info gladly received,

The short answer is no.

However, there were probably some in the design stage before Nationalisation. BR lots 2031, 2032, and 2033 were built at Shildon to BR diagram 1/031 in 1949 (425 wagons, B720000-B720424). This were a shock absorbing version of the all steel LNER diagram 194 vacuum braked open, presumably with the body shortened to 16'6".
