Good morning all
Yesterday I took a Kirk coach (8852) from my "roundtuit" cupboard for a little weekend entertainment in building it.
Referring to Michael Harris's book, it seems to indicate that D191 was fitted with bucket seats.
Is this correct?
If it is correct, I've lumbered myself with making four bays of bucket seats for the interior.

Yes it would have had bucket seats as originally built. Later removed and replaced by the the high back variety by the LNER. Although not sure they were all done in the life of the LNER. Reusing the curved seat pad springs in the new seats. When BTO 43567 onthe NYMR was restored we discovered the reused seat bases.

Before you make those bucket seats, see "Atlantic's works: A proper vintage carriage" thread. Mike Trice is on the case.

Mike might be on the case, but they are not going on general release from him, you can also see how I painted some of mine on my C&W posts.

Thanks for the information Dave. Sorry if I've mislead you Earlswood but over on RMweb someone asked "Do you happen to know of a source of the bucket seats that were used pre-war in open coaches?" to which Mike responded "Working on them: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=2443&start=4875#p132140".
