Was dismayed to read in the latest Model Railway Journal that this gentleman had passed away in June.
He was well known for his superb EM gauge layout of Retford in the 50s.
Though I didn’t know him personally the size of the venture was breathtaking.
An inspiration to many

Re: R. I. P. Roy Jackson
I have seen videos of the Retford layout on youtube and I must say it is 1 of the most highly impressive layouts I have watched and with scale length trains too and absolutely joyful to watch.
This layout will live on as a testament to his work, very well done sirto you and the team of modellers who worked with you

If you are attending the forthcoming EMGS EM North event in Wakefield, there will be a small tribute to Roy and his achievements in Finescale
