I have resumed work on Valour’s tender front. Paul’s tender has some pleasant little details around the front tool box. The top is still loose (hence the bad horizontal front joint), but it now has the motor cover in place. The engine will probably have a fairly empty tender, as it will be working on the up Sheffield Pullman, coming in to KX.

My gosh, wonder how I managed to get all that detail in, and we still didn't get it to market

Just amazing work and all in 2mm, it's hard enough in 4mm.

Paul has the ability but must try harder 2/10.

It's so nice to be insulted by someone you know,
but tell me Dave, which NE loco classes have not been done by someone???

I have tried to seduce you to the dark side, and get you to BUY a GN 4-4-0,
so what would you like me to create that you might be interested in???

2 out of 10, that is harsh

Now Paul I don't have a clue to that question, life is to short....1/10 must take an interest.

Follow the force Paul it's the NER for enlightenment....I hope or I'm in the wrong religion.
NER Q1 (D18) excellent choice JW

Thanks for the clarification Dave, when first I read Jonathan's post I wonder to what he was referring,
A GC 0-8-4T, which I think there has been a white metal kit, or a GN one, which I think will be coming to
LRM, via the Clayton people, to back up their Q2, ie the Gresley boiler one.

SO after wiping my brow, now comes the difficult problem for me,although I have MacLeans Loco book
I do not know if there is a drawing available via my York mouse, but more importantly, the need is for a
proper set of end views. My previous experience looking at York drawings suggests few that are available
are complete, being generally only side and plan on one sheet, unlike my impecunious friends at Doncaster
who generally got it all on the same page. Also what about the tender?

Also what is the modelling difference between the Q and Q1? Apart from the Clerestory?

Looks fun though.

I am told that the long awaited B16 is being released by London Road Models instantly.

I have continued filling in the valve gear and drain cocks / linkage and cylinder covers. Quite fiddly.

The nearside works plate will need a slight trim with a sharp chisel.

A chisel? Nice to hear that somebody else apparently uses large tools on small jobs. I find that handles on full size cutting tools give me better and safer control than the slender finger-grip handles on scalpels etc.

Afraid the chisel that I use is pretty small, Graeme.

I used to know a research physicist at Cambridge who showed me screencaps from an electron microscope he used which (20 years ago) would resolve individual atoms on a solid.

This reminds me of that.

And there I was hoping to see a big tool in action.
