special livestock wagons

Good day fellow modellers,I have just acquired in a job lot a special livestock wagon no 106309.Does anyone have any information regarding the origins of this model.Any information as to diagram no.& date of build etc of the actual wagon would be welcome,

after a week of trying to upload a photo,i ve still not succeded.How ever there is a picture on Worth Point . com. Then Enter 106309 into thejr search, and find it on Page 1 ,3rd line down.Hope this will help you to help me,Thanks again, Ron.

It looks like a NER Road van with home made windows added to me, note the different colour in that area to the window area. Never heard of any NER Special livestock vans.

It is a model of the very first Road Van, which did have windows. It's paper overlays on a wooden body - I have one somewhere.

Never used for livestock. Tatlow will give you build dates. etc.

I do believe that the NER produced a Special Cattle Van. I think that there was a photograph in one of The NER Records, perhaps vol2

This road van appears to be covered using one of the Merco printed paper sides - 'lithos' - which were available from Hamblings in my youth. Very acceptable at the time, although some of the chosen prototypes (like this one) were rather odd choices.
