Books on GCR/CLC Rolling Stock
I've been looking for books on Great Central Railway and Cheshire Lines Committee rolling stock, and hoped I could find some recommendations here. Other than the relevant portions of Tatlow for wagons, what is out there?

Not a fat lot, I'm afraid.
Re: Books on GCR/CLC Rolling Stock
CLC wagons have been covered in the LNER Society Journal using the late Bob Miller's research.
There is a Great Central carriages book in preparation, but I don't believe it is due any time soon.
There are a few drawings in George Dow's three volume History.
But, as JW says, not a lot really.

In Great Central Album, also by George Dow (Ian Allan), there are two photos.
One is a part image of a CLC brake van (No.1A), and the other of a distinctive CLC tarapulin.

There are some photos of CLC coaches in Britain's Joint Lines by H C Casserley, and also a photo of one of the CLC Sentinel railcars. There is also a description of the livery and numbering system used post-grouping.
Re: Books on GCR/CLC Rolling Stock
I originally bought this book new on the Great Central Railway back in 1970 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/123958539773 as part of a whole series of 'Railway Album' books on the big four and their constituency companies pre-grouping and published by Ian Allan all in hardback although to my knowledge none of the Album series were ever re-published in the intervening 50 years?.
Here is also the LNER Album Vol.1 which I also bought around the same time as the Great Central Railway Album in 1970- https://productimages.worldofbooks.com/B001UB9HVG.jpg

Thank you John, do you know who is writing this book, or who will be publishing it once completed?JASd17 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 06, 2019 7:10 pm CLC wagons have been covered in the LNER Society Journal using the late Bob Miller's research.

Apologies for the late reply.
John Quick of the GCR Society is writing the book.
I do not know any further details.

See the OP Mick...
Michael Harris' LNER Standard Gresley Carriages includes some CLC Diagrams and there are several books on the CLC that include varying degrees of information on the coaching stock, although I only had sight of these so cannot list titles for you.
Re: Books on GCR/CLC Rolling Stock
The Hugh Longworth volume which contains data on post nationalisation ex LMS coaches has CLC information. The GCR data is in the other volume containing post nationalisation ex LNER coaches.
There is also a book on GNR stock Mike Harris wrote which refers to the CLC stock built by the GNR.
The HMRS did publish some articles in the past - 50 years ago maybe? I have seen them in the NRM library area.

I am not really sure 'Longworth' can be trusted as a source.
A personal opinion.

Re: Books on GCR/CLC Rolling Stock
As a quick example or two, found through recent research I was doing for a project:
Several of the Diagrams for the post-war (Thompson) stock state the length over body as 61' 6" when it should be 63'
The Diagram accompanying the post-war 'Flying Scotsman' Buffet Lounge Cars is the BR-rebuilt layout not the original
