I have added the first part of a lot of new photos of Gresley’s A4

The Mallard ones are before the run (at Barkston?).
Golden Eagle is in the original green A4 livery, before the decision was taken to use the parabolic shape at the smokebox. This is likely to be just before its first release to traffic in December 1936.
4487 with the Coronation is at Belle Isle. That's the cemetery building behind.
The second picture of 4498 is in preservation, it's hauling a maroon Mk 1.
The third picture at Naburn, there's a substitute BG leading, it's not a steel one. The following shot of 4482 on Langley Troughs shows the usual steel vehicle.
4491 leaving KX on the Silver Jubilee - the carriages are two tone. It's the Coronation or West Riding.

4489 on the Flying Scotsman.
I think this is approaching Stoke tunnel with the down train.
4900 (2) is on an Up train at Askham tunnel.

Could it not be the silver jubilee if it was using the spare unmarked set of two tone coaches which were built?

It is not clear whether this is the spare set, I suspect not.
4491 is at platform 5, the normal departure platform for the Coronation and West Riding Limited. The Silver Jubilee usually went from platform 6, I believe.
I cannot say which of the later streamliners it is, although 4491 only worked the WRL on a very few occasions. It was a regular on the Coronation at least when it was first introduced, rather less so in 1938-9.

If it were the spare set it would have roofboards; as John says, it's not really possible to say conclusively.

Given the placing and size of the nameplate is that 4490 in the background of the 4491 photo at King's Cross?
Possibly on the other 4pm Down? (Looking at the light, I think this must be the Coronation, the only time 4491 was on the WRL, during its first week of operation, it would have been departing at dusk.)
That might make it possible to get an accurate date, it is most likely to be 1937, with no class designation on 4491, which it would have displayed after June 1938. (The date is confirmed as 1937, as 4491 did not haul either the Coronation or WRL in the first half of 1938.)

The photo of 2510 with the spare set is taken in the autumn of 1937 and will be the Up Silver Jubilee service, as 2510 was not used on the other streamliners around this time. Edit: to be more precise between 11th and 29th October, when the original Silver Jubilee set had the bogies replaced.

Hi all,
The photo of 4487 Sea Eagle in a experimental green livery in Doncaster paint shop unknown date ......
I have an original postcard of this image which was probably distributed to staff of the various industrial suppliers to Doncaster works.
On the back are the usual delineated spaces for message and addressee, and "Stamp Here".
The date is noted as April 1937 (Green Livery) with the works No 1852.

Could've been Down road north of Brookmans Park, except the signal box in left background makes that impossible.

Shot 59/83, of 4464.
Type of signal is incorrect, and tunnel in background appears to be too short. for anywhere near Welwyn Tunnels (or Hadley Wood/Potters Bar tunnels for that matter).

4473 (shot 33/63) at "Hornsey station"; No, it's Harringay.
4473 (shot 35/63), "unkown location" - may be Kings Cross station throat (looks like could be the Granary building in Kings Cross Goods Yard in the background).

4477 (shot 55/63), Harringay.
4478 (shot 58/63), could be Up road on Digsweill (Welwyn) Viaduct; looks like Welwyn North station in far background. --
-- I now see that 4478 in 61/83 is the same view, already labelled as Welwyn Viaduct; why several duplicates among the collection; wastes people's time trying to help.

I think 4464 (59/83) is at Peascliffe tunnel, near Grantham. The tunnel is not that short, it is just the exhaust exiting the tunnel mouth.

Photo 52/83 A4 No. 22. I think this is the Down Queen of Scots Pullman approaching Grantham in Saltersford cutting.
26/83 No.4464 is on the Down Flying Scotsman at Croft Spa. Probably a W Rogerson photo taken early in 1938.
