A small feature today, after a good running-in turn on the GC yesterday... the Pollitt X4 seen heading south while a D6 heads north...

I'm also drawn to the commemorative, let's hope Bachmann will produce 6165 Valour.

A little more done on the X4. Interesting comparing the shades of alleged Apple Green - 968 carries the Humbrol version (freshly applied), 3284 carries the RailMatch version (about 35 years old).

Just a small one today. Still working on the ex-GWR clerestories into ex-GCR ones for running behind my X4. The loco itself is heading into the final straight as far as completion goes - just a few more bits of lining to do on the tender, then tidying up the black edging, and the highly distinctive front vacuum brake pipe to go on.

Shame they scrapped 05.002 in the DB era; you'd have thought they would at least have retained that one rather than 05.001.

Howdy folks. Thought I'd share some progress here of a few of the ex-GC Parker coaches. I have the Worsley Works BFK, FK and LCK (?), as well as an elderly Andy Gibbs/D&S BFK (being built as a faux BTK).

The faux-BTK has proven a challenge, and definitely one that should be built with a soldering iron.

Just a small note. I thought that i would share a few piccies of the Parkers and Pollitt Single that I had been working on over the past year. The Parkers are now complete, and don't half show how few passengers the folks in charge thought would actually travel down (or UP?) to London. The complete train (once I have the dining cars up and running) will be six coaches to go behind my Pollitt.

The X4 is a bit of a kitbash - Triang 'Lord of the Isles' chassis, with a DJH Pollitt 4-4-0 kit used as the basis for the upperworks. The tender has had coalboards and pickups added.

Evening all. Has it really been a year since I last posted something on my own thread? Strewth. The opening words of "A tale of two cities" spring to mind as to how to describe the last 12 months, but Ithink that the pictures tellthe tale better.
Got the S1/2 completed to a presentable state. Started on a mammoth job that I'd always talked about doing with my late father, and one that was a bit double-edged when discussed in earshot of members of the GCR RST.

But for now, on with the show....
