Re: Daves C & W Works
Thanks Dave, I found it (the build starts on page 42 of your thread, in case anyone else - including you - is looking too) and I realised I've seen some of the photos before when leafing through the internet and through the LNER forum, but I hadn't read about the build before - lovely work!

Chas thank you for taking the time to find it and posting the page number. I must get round to doing some sort of index so I
can find stuff myself.

Re: Daves C & W Works
A quick update on the H4.
Well the side could not be saved as I discovered the windows were too low, so it was not worth cutting down the side.
How that cock up occured I don't know, I blame the government. So another side has been cut,
handrails fitted and the body started to be assembled. The photo's seem too show the progress todate.

Re: Daves C & W Works
Happy New Year Dave, The H4 is coming along nicely.
The restoration of the full size H2 at Kirkby Stephen East is almost complete too I believe. We haven't managed to get over since last August but it was well on it's way then.

Nice work Dave!
And Rob, I didn't know there's a prototype restoration prject on the go - I shall have to make the trip to see that, as I plan to build an H2 in due course...

Re: Daves C & W Works
Thank you Rob, and a Happy New Year to you and Chris.
Thanks Chaz, I had forgotten about the H2 and must go and see it this year as I fancy doing that version as well.
I need a very well supplied model railway.....................
Update time, the basic body is now complete just needs some extra support at roof level, which is why I have
given it a quick spray with grey primer to seal the interior, before that support is added.

That's looking very solid (and very unlikely to warp) isn't it? What thickness plastic card did you use Dave?

Chaz.
The floor is 60 thou with a 30 thou thickener to give the air space under the tanks. The sides are, cream 20 thou with a 15 thou white
backing for the window frames, I ran out of 15 so one side is 10 thou with a 5 thou layer. The ends are 40 thou with a 5 thou facing to cover the joints
with the sides. The internal roof divisions are 40 thou with a strip all round at floor level of Evergreen 147.
I hope that makes sence as I have spent the night with friends in The Blue Bell York.

Re: Daves C & W Works
Hi Dave,
Back on 28th August in your thread, you said you had bought a 3D printed NER K1 cattle wagon and attached pics. Can I ask you who makes that please? I have started some 3D printing and drawing myself but am still a bit off making wagons. The K1 was one I would like to have done in the future but I will concentrate my efforts elsewhere if somebody else has done this one.
Cheers
Stephen

Re: Daves C & W Works
I have managed to complete the basic body and fixed the solebars.
Strapping has started, the tank brackets have been added and the ends are being detailed.

Thanks Dave - the photo is quite deceptive, I think perhaps because it's primed, and I didn't realise there was so much layering.Dave wrote: ↑Sat Jan 07, 2023 12:46 am Chaz.

Re: Daves C & W Works
As Dave and Chas had added posts before I saw yours awaiting approval, there's a chance that yours might not attract Dave's early attention, so I'll try to answer your question. I suspect the supplier was https://pregroupingrailways.com/carlislecitadel2 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 09, 2023 1:11 am Hi Dave,
