Post by Tom F »

Hi all I wonder if anyone has any pics of this A3 from 1960 onwards...planned conversion of Hornby A3 Sandwich, wouldn't mind just seeing her in the flesh.....almost ;)

Hi Tom

Just realised that the first picture of 60060 was taken in 1959, try this one taken in 1960 but does not show all of the locomotive.

Hello Tom,
There is a photograph in Top Shed by Peter Townend, but at the moment my books are not accessible, hence I do not know the date. However some information may help you 60060 was until August 1960 fitted with a 94A Boiler. At this time she aquired a Type 107 Boiler. She had been fitted with a Double Blastpipe Chimney in March 1959 but was one of the class never to be fitted with Smoke Deflectors. Throughout this period she pulled a LNER Tender and was fitted with the Doncaster type Reverser.
Regards,Derek.
