51A Darlington

Evening chaps

Would anyone have any pics of Darlington Sheds, exterior and inside shots.

I'm thinking of scratch building something similar for my layout, and wouldn't mind some reference shots :)

Cheers

I was sent the 2 attached photos earlier this year.
No detail other than Feb 62.
Which means definately plough numbers 18 and 20 both now preserved.

TomTank if you were to get yourself to either Durham County Records Office or Darlington Library they'll have 25" to the mile maps of Darlington. These show railway track layouts in great detail, together with positions of signals and lamp posts etc.

There's a nice large colour photo of the shed in this month's "Heritage Railway".

I have several of Darlington shed taken from beside the turntable (I have "Lemberg", "Colombo" and B1 61237 on the latter). For my NE photos link go to http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index. ... __p__11782

There is a section devoted to Darlington (Page 2). Sorry the first page is very long as it was transferred from an earlier version of RMWEB.

The photo below is from there.

Many thanks for the feedback chaps, very much appreciated. Some cracking pictures there.
ArthurK that's a brilliant picture of the front, which is what I'm after.

Would anyone have anymore pics of the actual front of the locomotive sheds?

Cheers

Hi Tom

If you have looked at my RMWEB thread then you will have seen all the Darlington photos that I have. They were all taken from the vicinity of the Turntable. I was always passing through Darlington on my way back to Lancashire so that I didn't have a lot of time to spare.
