A4 4903 Livery Help

Post by x568wcn »

I am trying to research the entire history of the A4's through building the colour schemes, the 3/4 renumbering, and the 2/3 renmining through to disposal.
I have got right through to the full so called 1946 numbers, and some are now back in Blue, but I am stuck with 4903, and wonder if anyone can help with;
When it got it's black livery & When it lost it's Valances, they seem to be missing off the list I have from the net, it being the last one built, but it does get a 1946 number!

Anyone help?

To black 9/42, back to blue 12/47, to BR Blue 12/50, green 8/52 withdrawn 8/66.

Original number 4903, named Peregrine, first 1946 number 613, second 1946 number 34 11/46, 60034 3/48.

Many thanks, did it ever carry the number 613, as according to my findings only 4 did and for very short times;
4483 - 585 - 30/3/46 - 5/5/46
4485 - 587 - 18/4/46 - 26/5/46
4486 - 588 - 31/3/46 - 5/5/46
4466 - 605 - 21/1/46 - 27/5/46

Thanks again
