Stunning!

Just beautiful that. The Klondikes not quite as elegant as the C1s but have a certain je ne sais quoi all their own.

So true, I've done one in lined black in 4mm, but I do have a C1 in 4mm to do and having done this one I think I might have a go at fully lined green.

Not sure who's kit it is as I just painted it but I can find out over the weekend, the 4mm ones I have are djh.

I must get round to starting my own thread sometime and see what you guys think of some of my other work.

I've just had a check and the C2 is an ex Modellers World kit now owned by Gladiator Kits for whom I did the paint job.

The loco is not currently available but anyone after one could always inquire and it might get pushed up the que.

Well just over 12months on, I have returned to this build.

Last night I cleaned up the castings for the slide bars/cross heads and finished soldering the wrappers to the cylinders - having just had a re-read of Tony's build I should have soldered the castings in before putting the wrapper around. Anyway I managed to get the castings on the fronts of the cylinders without too much trouble and I plan to assemble the motion brackets and test fit before finally soldering the slide bars to the cylinders.

Here are a few shots of where I got to...

You just pipped me to it

The keen reader will pop back to see it's beginnings on an earlier page - that's how I figured out what it was anyway

Ay up!

So I was right - an 8F! Should stand up well to Doncaster's traditions although I think it was sad that the last Donny 8F had to give up it's bits and pieces to so many new build projects.

I didn't get any modelling done last week but since then I have made some steady progress on the 06

I have done a bit more at the chassis

Next up was the front bogie.

And lastly just before going on holiday I ordered a set of coupling rods etc from Premier which were waiting for me when I got back. I also took the time to make up some of the rods that came with the kit.
