The only show I've ever taken a layout to two years in a row was Derby, when it used to be in the city centre. In those days, if you won best layout, you were invited back next year (but were ineligible for the vote).

It was Thurston, about 15 years ago. Plenty of photos and video on here, RMWeb and the internet in general, although I don't know that there are any from that show.

Now resident somewhere in Suffolk, I believe.

A little bit of front end detail for your delectation as we inch towards completion.
(edit - these should have gone in the G-Train thread; have now posted them there as well. Apologies)

I'm glad to see that attention has been paid to the correct form of sweeping curve in the boiler handrail where it turns the corners at the front edge of the smokebox. That's very much a Robinson GCR hallmark.

Re: "Grantham - The Streamliner Years"
As is the real Thurston, of course...
Re: "Grantham - The Streamliner Years"
Thanks for mentioning that, as some care was taken, with constant reference to pictures, the evening I did it. It's a subtle, compound curve for sure - and I have to say I'm not displeased at the way it's turned outAtlantic 3279 wrote: ↑Wed Feb 06, 2019 10:30 am I'm glad to see that attention has been paid to the correct form of sweeping curve in the boiler handrail where it turns the corners at the front edge of the smokebox. Is there a CD available for the layout and if so where can it be purchased?

Hi there.
Yes, we do have a DVD available. Send me a PM with your details and I'll take it from there.

It is a part of the spam prevention - when you hit 5 posts (I think) you should be able to send PMs. Otherwise someone could sign up and send spam PMs to everyone.
LNER4479 should be able to send you a PM now (although I don't think you can reply yet - yes a silly restriction in the software).
