Re: Some more location questions
Robert,
Very happy to help.
There is some confusing information out there, not least on Calvert station, shots claiming to be in one direction, when they are totally the opposite. It got me thinking for a while.
The Woodham Brick Company was a rather short-lived enterprise, as far as I can ascertain, although in full-flow in the photo. The clay pits had some very fine fossils, apparently.
All good fun. I think the loco variations fit too, still RH drive and both sets of guard-irons. I can leave the carriage formation to you!

Re: Some more location questions
Next question, please.

I think this might be in the Hull area as that is where the engine was shedded in 1957. The stock suggests a portion of an express, probably detached at Doncaster.

West Parade Junction, Hull, heading to Paragon. But not the Selby line. The train is on the Hull & Scarborough line.

Re: Some more location questions
Thanks for the information. Could it be through carriages that started from Beverley or somewhere along that line?JASd17 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 21, 2018 10:21 pm Robert,

Re: Some more location questions
Portobello has now been suggested as the location for this image.robertcwp wrote: ↑Sun Jul 22, 2018 9:28 am Going back to this image I posted a few years ago, Gorgie Junction and Coltbridge Junction have been suggested on another forum, or possibly another location in the Edinburgh area. Any further suggestions or corroboration please?

Re: Some more location questions
Portobello is a good shout but not 100% sure the chimney is right for adjacent power station?
Agree buildings are Scottish style though

Re: Some more location questions
I have not managed to match the image with any others of Portobello, or anywhere else come to that.

That sort of track layout, including a facing scissors crossover, certainly suggests it likely to be a terminus.Blink Bonny wrote: ↑Sun May 04, 2014 11:14 amI concur with that.JASd17 wrote:The last one looks like Leeds Central.
