It has, the test was on Monday, and I was going to ask on Saturday the outcome.
On the subject of Green Arrow and LNER, in Steam Railway 343 P71, there's a photo with the caption 'Dave on the footplate of Green Arrow at Durham on September 22 2007' erm, below 'Dave' is the number 60800, that wasn't 2 months ago!

On the subject of Mallard, I was going to sugest that, all that would be behind is KOYLI...in Diesel Form though!

The A1 Sparshatt photo has been added instead.

I've managed to figure out some of the feathering, and I believe I've done a better job. If we go back to the B1, I could improve the feathering (ie. remove the ugly right anglethat includes empty sky).

Now that is a cracker of a shot Richard, well done, it looks really nice, it is an elegant shot and with added human interest, the feathering too is just perfect.

I don't think the fact that it is not a colour shot matters a jot, as both
the photograph and locomotive construction techniques are contemporaneous, appropriate and at the leading edge of the available technology at that time.

Thanks.

You may have also noticed some forum colour changes to go with the new logo. I'm still adjusting them, but let me know if anyone has any problems making out the text/etc.

Karl: Do you mean the forums or the main pages?

The forums should be changed to blue. Let me know where you see some green (it is possible that your browser's cache has some old bits).

If the main pages, then yes: Virtually all of them are still green.

Some of the writing is still green - but I have left that as is. Before I had some blue text and some green text. We still have some blue and some green :-)

On Thursday, I did start to convert some of the other pages, but hit a problem with the header alignment in Internet Explorer.
I've managed to partly fix it, and to add a transparent background to the A4 image to make it less obvious. Here's the result:

http://www.lner.info/studygroup/index.shtml

(unfortunately tin Firefox the feathering doesn't look quite so good near the chimney when I added the transparency - but it looks a lot better in IE).

The first sub-section, "References & Bibliography" has been converted:

Let me know of any problems /etc.

I have some more sections converted: The Engineer Biographies, and the Technical Articles:

http://www.lner.info/eng/engineers.shtml
http://www.lner.info/article/tech/techindex.shtml

I'm going to re-arrange the geography/line related articles into the new Constituent Company section, hence they've been left unconverted - I might as well do it all at once.

I may get to this new section in the next week. I also plan to get some of the locomotive pages converted. This should give us a good taster as to how well it works. At the moment I'm not so sure of the main text font...
