Mr Dimmer i must take you to task, Mr Harrison et al will be spinning in their graves after you attribute a certain aforementioned class of 4-4-0 to the Great Eastern.
Hi interested in the area served by 52D. also researching colliery wagonways from same area.

The 65033 pics at Donny(Darlo?) were probably taken around the time the two survivors were on the scrapline together, parts were being swapped to make up the best one for preservation. Shame we couldnt have kept both in the words of Rev Awdry we would have TWO VERY USEFUL ENGINES.

I have been looking at the picture of the J72. It appears to be bearing a 50B (Hull Dairycoates) shed plate and it moved to Dairycoates from Darlington in 1960 previously being shedded at West Hartlepool. It was withdrawn in March 1961 & cut up at Darlington. However, the coaling plant is not Dairycoates nor is it Botanic Gardens but it does look like York, I can't find a picture of Darlington coaling plant which is obviously a possibility.

Any further comments?

I wondered if the J72 had strayed across the Humber to Immingham then thought better of it. Surely the coaling tower is a give away, its too far south for me to comment.

I'm pretty sure it's York. Certainly not Darlington, which had a very distinctive coaler.
